World Concern
in Tibet

Seven percent of all Khatsa profits are donated to World Concern,
an international relief organization based in Seattle, Washington. This organization is working in Tibet on Nature Preservation projects on the Mt. Everest region. Projects focus on preserving the natural wildlife and providing educational opportunities for underprivileged children.

The nature preserve is located on the Northern slope of the Himalayas, this rugged and beautiful land is home to Tibet's poorest people. Largely ignored by government programs, these people struggle to survive relying on ancient technologies for subsistence farming. Their lack of education (70% of the children lack access to school) coupled with extreme isolation have left them vulnerable to preventable diseases. World Concern, one of the few outside organizations registered to work in Tibet, is helping individuals, families, and villages in that region.

–  Gain access to primary schools and have adequate supplies and qualified teachers
–  Learn marketable vocational skills that will lead to economic stability and self-reliance
–   By providing veterinarians to remote villages to assist farmers to better care for their livestock
–  Assist families in starting small businesses that will enable year around income sufficiency

Progress and economic stability can best be achieved if the people of
the region acquire the educational and vocational skills necessary to take advantage of modern approaches to farming, sanitation, disease prevention
and small business development.
